I had SO MUCH fun yesterday. It was a fun run all in all! I love virtual races - they keep you motivated to run through the entire way, and puts you in a non-competitive mode so you can snap your peektures and enjoy the scenery!
1) Out and back from my apartment on the east side - crossing the Queensboro bridge. As you all know the NY marathon is next weekend. The bridge was part of the route - I saw many runners on that bridge alone.
2) In Queens, I ran to the little park and circled it before taking off towards brooklyn via the Pulaski bridge. I have an obsession for running on bridges :) Again another piece of the marathon route and saw a few runners there as well. Possibly doing their 8 -10 miler before the long race
3) Brooklyn! MY fave fave FAVE place to run. Well.. Comparable to central park. They’re very different routes.. But brooklyn is always different everytime I go. This time I saw a filming taking place, and also saw many little thrift shops that I swear I was VERY tempted to stop and look hehehe.
4) Made a turn at Williamsburg bridge (FAVE NYC BRIDGE TO RUN OF ALL TIME!!!) but didn’t wanna run through manhattan so I took a turn and ran back the same way :)
I thought that the last bridge lap back would kill my legs, but it didn’t!! I made up the incline fairly easily and enjoyed the wonderful breeze.
So that’s my run before Sandy hits. A virtual half, sanity run, me missing nyc all in one. Then it was wings and waffle fries after hehehehehe.
<3 Everyone on the east coast.. Stay safe through the hurricane and may our electricity run strong through Mon & Tues.
