The last Sunday run before the marathon next Sunday. Holy I am scared shitless that’s what. The nerves of the unknown!! Not having ran more than 16 miles at one go still gets to me even though this is the second time I’m training on hanson’s. I would love to do a training look-back after the marathon.
Right now I’m just being jittery all over. Gah it’s coming so soon! The marathon I always wanted to run! The one with routes I ran over and over even before I started training for the marathon (the nycm route goes past my home!!!). It’s all coming down to next Sunday. Will you guys cross your fingers for me?
Anyway a couple of photos from this morning / lunch. Got a nice tan from the sun. Still holding onto my shorts and Tshirt because I’m not ready for the cold(slash jacket running weather) yet.
Wayyyy back there was where I started. So glad to be home under covers now. That was a tough run with some really gnarly headwinds for basically 6 miles (running uptown). Not fun at all. Today basically sucked and i havent felt this negative in awhile. Just a whole day of being misunderstood and nothing was going the way I wanted to. But Yknow what? Here’s to a better day tomorrow.
PEAK WEEK IS DONE!!! My last 16 miler on the hanson’s training plan. Oh it sure wasn’t easy after 10 miles yesterday. But I finished it feeling strong and room for more miles - and that is an awesome feeling.
It was a gloomy, and gusty-winds made the first 1/2 of my run MISERABLE. I did run the RFK bridge again, because it has just amazing views and almost NO traffic on the pedestrian/bike lanes. Awesome.
Now off to attend to work related stuff. *sulk*. BUT BUT I can’t wait to read race recaps!!!!!!! :):)
So I ran the Wall Street 3 mile yesterday - all I can say is it was the worst feeling ever after the race. I know the weather played a part but there was definitely other elements to this crappy feel. I have my own theories. You’d be surprise to know I felt worse than after I finished my marathon. Yikes.
Ran to meet my boy after so I added a few easy miles. And another 4 this morning because I felt like it.
Back in Delaware today and tomorrow. I will be back and forth between NYC and DE for a bit - rotation interview related.
Definitely not a good combo interviewing and working. Let a lone adding marathon training. I am not feeling at my 100% at the mo. But nonetheless definitely putting a poker face on during interviews.
But to celebrate the great weather I had a 3 mile fun run this morning. More to come later! I am also volunteering at more’s women’s half this weekend since I can’t run it. I love that race! Am so excited to cheer on all lady runners.
Therapeutic. The weather is great today - look at the blue sky! I just wanna swim in it. Easy 6 miles on some dirt. The best feeling in the world is taking a day off and spending it soaking in the quiet morning outside in solitude.
My boy and I are taking a trip! Guess where? Hint: it’s not nearly as good as Las Vegas. But it’ll do :)
